Artist Statement

Fascination, Imagination, and Education describes my journey into Art, Design, and Animation.

While still engaged in the education part of my journey, my fascination and imagination with art and animation is where it all started. Drawing with pencils and marker were the main media of my art from childhood. My fascination with animated movies and series fanned the fuel of my imagination to develop my own characters and stories. In my teens is where I started to develop my own digital art. My high school was in a small rural town just west of Nashville, TN. The art program was lacking in any digital education, so I was self-taught and craving instruction to pursue a career in digital design and animation that my imagination and creativity can be harnessed and that is my focus today. While digital media is my focus, I also enjoy working with natural materials, paint, and large design areas.

The artist I most admire is Walt Disney. Being a fellow dyslexic and knowing the struggles and seeing his art style development, imagination and ingenuity become the empire that is Disney, is simply amazing. It gives me hope for the future I see in myself.
